The team

Veterinarian Marie-José van Lochem - Verruijt  is the owner of Veterinarian Clinic Stevenshof. She completed her study at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University. After being employed as veterinarian on several places in the country, on which Amstelveen, Voorschoten and Rijswijk, the opportunity came to take over the practice of retiring veterinarian Westgeest. After a massive reconstruction of the clinic the practice started. Along with her team she will be ready to give your pet the best possible care in our power at the clinic. Marie-José is married with Rutger van Lochem and lives in Voorschoten. In 2013 daughter Alyssa was born and in 2016 daughter Samantha was born.
At home plenty of animals were always present. At the moment British shorthair Luca and rabbits Vlinder and Olaf are present.
Several times Marie-José joined trap, neuter and return projects abroad and treated shelter and wounded animals abroad, under which a project on Sara in Lanzarote in 2009 and a project with OKAPI in 2008 on Fuerteventura .
Marie-Jose follows lots of education to be up to date of the latest veterinary developments, under which a recent ultracardiology course in Brussel. She also treats lots of animals with the therapeutical laserdevice. Along this Marie-Jose also perfoms most of the home visit calls, is taking care of the management of the clinic and is the Shelter Veterinarian of Stichting Nationale DierenZorg Wassenaar. She now is following extra courses in abdominal ultrasound. Marie-Jose also has a license to sedate (wild) animals with a sedationgun from a distance. Herefore she sometimes get called away by the emergency services. 

Veterinarian Tanya Barrett reinforced our team since 2018. She lives in Voorschoten with her husband, 2 kids and rabbits and guinea pigs. Her favorite parts of veterinary medicine are surgery, rabbits and rodents, internal medicine, cat's medicine and dental. She is our dental veterinarian. According to this she follows lots of courses in dentistry. She recently did a extensive radiology course in Brussel. In the coming periode Tanya will perform laparoscopic surgery together with veterinarian Eva

From the 30th of august 2021 we're pleased that Eva DE Bruyker started to enforce our clinic. Eva is an experienced veterinarian, with over 10 years of veterinary experience in the neighbourhood. At home she lives together with her son and daughter and partner, and dog Dieuwke. Eva's preferences are dentistry and surgery. Dog Dieuwke accompancies Eva at the clinic. Together with veterinarian Tanya Eva will be performing laparascopic sterilisations. She will also do scopy's and opthalmology at the clinic. 

In 2019 Larissa Smit joined our veterinary team. Larissa and Marie-Jose worked together as veterinarians in Amstelveen, lots of years ago. Larissa is an experienced veterinarian, with special interest in internal medicine. She lives in De Kwakel with husband and 2 children. Cat Nero and dog Boef accompanies them. Larissa will be performing abdominal ultrasounds together with Marie-Jose, she is following a variety of courses because of this. 

Roos Bello has joined our team of veterinarians on september 9th 2024. She has years of working experience at the clinic of birdspecialistic vet Rob van der Zon. She likes to treat birds and rabbits. But also dogs and cats are nice to treat! 

Almost from the beginning Antoinette works at Veterinarian Clinic Stevenshof. At first she worked for veterinarian Westgeest for 12 years, later on she worked for veterinarian van de Wouw for 18 years, whereafter she landed at our clinic again several years ago. Antoinette and her husband have 3 daughters. Antoinette likes to babysit her grandchildren several times a week. The pet family consist of: dog Pien, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. You will see Antoinette often in the Stevenshof, walking her dog. Antoinette her favorites are dentistry, anesthesiology and surgery. She also did a course in nutrition and cat's behaviour is the latest item she prefers to do lots of education on.

Sinds 2016 we're priviliged to have a front office employee, Watie reinforced our assistentteam. She will mostly be your trusted face at our desk and at the phone. She also performs lots of labatory work and takes care of lots of back office tasks like ordering sterile materials, medication and nutrition. In this she takes away lots of work for the other assistents, so they can take more time for your animal. Because of our Cat Friendly Practice status Silver acrreditation she is also our "Cat Advocate" and makes sure al procedures in the clinic follow the lines of Cat Friendly Practice. Along al of this she also doesn't mind to help out in the examination room or surgery room, when the other assistents are to busy.

Watie lives with her husband and 2 kids in Zoetermeer. Watie was raised in Wilnis between lots of dogs, cats, rabbits, horses and chickens. Currently Watie has a dog Woody, a cat and a rabbit.

Watie follows lots of education courses on  serveral parts of veterinary medicine.

Manon came as an intern for her education to be a paraveterinair assistent. She did this well and was able to start working as an assistent at the clinic. You can see Manon at the operation room, at the desk/ phone or in the consultation room. Manon really likes dentistry and making dental x-rays.

When Manon is free, you can find her with the horses or with her puppy, cat and several rabbits.

Robin joined our team in july 2019, to be a trainee.  Afterwards he became a member of our solid staff

Tamara is reinforcing our front office team as of juni 1rst 2022. She is accompanied by dog Buddy. She lives at the Stevenshof with her husband, daughter and Buddy

From juni 2023 Monique has started in our clinic. She has been a paraveterinary assistent for already 24 years! With dog Drieka and cat Spidey on the picture here. At home, she takes care of her 4 kids. 

Isabelle joined our team in may 2024. She is not a strange person to our team, because vets Larissa and Marie-Jose used to work with her in Amstelveen. You wil meet Isabelle on wednesday and thursday

Danielle is an experienced assistent, that will relieve the other assistents in vacation time. She lives in Rotterdam with husband and daughter. 2 bunnies are the pets.

As husband of a veterinarian with own clinic, you know for sure that you will be motivated to help the team sometimes. Rutger sometimes helps at the desk and phone or with emergency surgery. Rutger also takes care of a part of the administration of the clinic, next to his job at Schiphol Airport.

Vet Clinic Stevenshof is an aeqour kwalified internship company. You can see interns from the assisentschool and from the faculty of veterinary medicine at the clinic

Golden Retriever Pien is the dog of and well known in the Stevenshof. Her nickname is Pienie in the practice. When Antoinette is working, Pien joines her. She is still in training...she won't let male suppliers into our office without growling.

White Labradoodle Woody is the dog of assistent Watie. Woody accompanies Watie often towards the clinic. White is not his favorite color, his hobby consist of playing in mudd! Op the clinic he is always brushed and cleaned white nicely. Nickname of Woody is Woolie.

Mimi was born by a ceasarian section with Marie-Jose  in Novembre 2020. She is a Jack Russek Terrier. Now she joined the family of Marie-Jose. Her nickname is Bat, because of her ears.

Dieuwke is the dog of veterinarian Eva. She is a 4 year old Staby. She accompanies Eva at the clinic

Buddy is the dog of Tamara. His favorite things are walking and playing with his best friend Balou
